Moms and other things

Sometime over the last 6 years, I morphed into a Mom. This wasn’t really the plan. I was supposed to be something completely different. I’m not totally sure what that something was, but it sure wasn’t a Stay at Home Parent! But this is where I find myself. And now with the COVID keeping people at home, I’m it.

So why am I even writing this blog? Because I need something to do while I help my oldest through 1st Grade. And I am tired of seeing the perfect little instagram mom blogs. All they do is make mom’s feel bad that they cannot live up to some weird level of perfection. I am messy. My life is messy. My kid has marker all over his face. That’s just the way I roll.

So this is how I do things. Most of what I do is a weird mixture of Montessori, Positive parenting and all the other parenting books I’ve read and half forgotten. I’m not saying that what I do is correct, right or anything else. I just want to give examples of how I do things so that you don’t feel alone in this world. Or you can just laugh and see how much of a hot mess I really am.

So that’s it for today. My oldest who we will call Poley got mad that I wasn’t just paying attention to him while he was doing worksheet and stormed off to his room. He’s 6. And I know the little one Peanut, is going to be rather unhappy when I take the iPad away. But first I have to stop him from playing with the electrical sockets. Ah the joys of motherhood.
